Piston opens and closes to realize gas distribution

The cylinder liner is a cylindrical part that is placed in the cylinder body bore of the body and is tightly fixed by the cylinder head. The piston reciprocates in its inner bore and is cooled by cooling water.

The function of the cylinder sleeve is:

1. The cylinder head and the piston together constitute a cylinder working space.

2. The cylinder sleeve of the cylinder piston diesel engine bears the piston side thrust and becomes the lead of the piston reciprocating motion.

3. The heat of the piston assembly and its own heat is transferred to the cooling water so that the operating temperature is appropriate.

4. The cylinder liner of the two-stroke diesel engine is equipped with an air port, which is opened and closed by a piston to realize gas distribution.

The inner surface of the cylinder liner is directly affected by high temperature and high pressure gas, and it always has high-speed sliding friction with the piston ring and the piston skirt. The appearance is in contact with the cooling water, causing serious thermal stress under a large temperature difference and being corroded by the cooling water. The lateral thrust of the piston to the cylinder liner not only exacerbates its inner surface friction and causes it to bend. When the side thrust changes direction, the piston also hits the cylinder liner. In addition, there is also a large installation preload.

The gas pressure causes tangential tensile stress and radial compressive stress on the cylinder wall, and the inner surface is the largest. Such stress is high-frequency pulsation stress.

Due to the great thermal stress caused by the temperature difference between the inside and the outside of the cylinder wall, the internal surface generates compressive stress at normal temperature and the cooling surface has tensile stress. However, under extremely high air temperature, metal creep near the inner surface is plastically deformed, and residual tensile stress is formed on the inner surface after cooling. This kind of low-frequency stress caused by starting and stopping changes causes fatigue.
